The character

Leveret — a baby hare — is born with its eyes open. As a nocturnal animal hare is associated with the moon, intuition, and mystical knowledge. In European folklore, hares are believed to possess shapeshifting abilities, sometimes even thought to be witches in disguise. If these long-eared animals appear repeatedly in your dreams, a hare might be your cunning spirit guide.

This fully handmade necklace amulet can help you connect more deeply with the hare spirit. The chain is adorned with carefully selected stones that balance out the agile and intuitive nature of a hare with some calm confidence and grounded bravery. This piece functions both as a symbolic amulet and a distinctive everyday necklace.

Each amulet is individually sculpted, painted and assembled by hand, without the use of molds. Subtle irregularities in the wire and surface are part of the process and ensure that every piece is truly one of a kind. These necklaces are part of my first exploration of this technique and released as a limited edition of three pieces only.

Materials used: Paper clay, gesso, acrylic paint, acrylic varnish, first-grade titanium wire, stone beads. The lobster clasp is nickel-free jewelry metal.

Properties and care: The chain is approximately 40cm long (or slightly longer). Titanium is hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive skin. Please measure your neck circumference to ensure a comfortable fit. The hare pendant is very light weight, semi-glossy and subtly textured. The stone beads are described by my craft supplier as hematite, tiger's eye, dragon blood jasper, and green dalmatian stone; however, they are not gemologically certified.

Please handle the necklace with care. Do not pull on the chain. While gesso and varnish help protect the paper clay pendant from chipping, it should be kept away from water, fire, small children, and animals.
